Fate

Fate was the other half of the Impartials. He ensured that everyone had a path in life and that they stuck to it unto the end. The Lady’s interference with his plans was largely ignored by his clergy as they deemed that luck was far too insignificant a thing to interrupt his grand designs. In fact, any such report of someone avoiding their fate through random-happenstance was, itself, Fate working in strange ways to ensure people met their destiny. Everyone else tended to think he was simply delusional and a sore loser, though of course no one mentioned that around his devout.

Like his adversary and sometimes consort, Fate was perceived to be one of the most powerful of the divines simply because he was believed to affect everyone’s life. Helping keep the Exemplars and the Atrocities from each others throats surely fed this belief in his might.

His clergy, the Inevitables, had many large temples with a heavy stone table centered in an open courtyard. There was no established symbol for his faithful, though the heavy tables served as one by default. To their credit, his flock embraced the science of Astronomy. The had no set schedule for meeting times that can be noted, yet all of their services were “pre-ordained” and drew a large crowd. Most likely because people saw a group of dour old men marching towards his temples and realized that the next service was approximately now. Or perhaps it was deific providence as the clergy always taught.
